It is indeed possible to misconstrue the real meaning of what someone has said, when you only have the bare text in black and white to look at.
Whether or not Tony was right to feel so upset is not for me to say, but I think we'd all agree that comments that are made by some one who is not even brave enough to identify themselves probably shouldn't be allowed to carry much weight.
Tony - whatever you might think of him or his training methods - has never hesitated to be seen to stand behind his word. His name is written across every post he ever makes... You have to respect the man for that, surely?
I also make my identity a bit less obvious than Tony does - in case a pupils should read my comments and worry that I might be talking about them! But a couple of seconds with Google, searching for my username and where I live, should make it very easy to discover just exactly who I am!
I'm afraid I don't hold too much respect for anyone who slags off another member of the forum - even if they did do it under their own name. But to do so anonymously, and behind the victims back (ie by private message) is really not very nice and is simply not called-for....
We all have the right to hold an opinion - we do not have any right whatever, to damage the self-esteem of others!
