First Check Test Thanks Blaine !!

Just had my first check test after two and a half years of being an ADI. I would like to say a massive THANK YOU to Blaine I watched all of his videos to refresh myself and bring and new ideas to my teaching. This certainly helped me on my Check Test - got a Grade 5 which I was thrilled with thanks to Blaines help. This was the same with my Part 3 - along with my training watched the videos which were so - so extremely helpful. Keep up the good work Blaine - what would I have done without you - thank you !!!!!

Great result.

Any chance of a brief write up, including the lesson topic and whether you did roleplay or not.

OK here we go. I took a pupil who had already had 24 lessons with me - that is 24 one hour lessons. I decided to teach parallel park and also forward planning and awareness. She had not attempted a parallel park before and her meet situations needed improving. Tried to relax as much as possible but very difficult. The parallel park went ok after a full talk through and then a prompted one she was able to park which was great so that went very well. I didnt feel I gave as good a brief as I do in normal lessons but it still went ok. Not quite expecting it to go so smoothly it was as well that I also opted for fwd planning and awareness as well. This we did and again she seemed to improve. Managed to relax a bit at the end popping in the odd joke about me being the looney on the left as she forgot her left from her right - the examiner seemed to like that. Finished off with a Grade 5 which was great. But my best advice to anyone is to keep watching Blaine's videos they help so so much. The examiner said he was improssed with the beginning of the lesson giving a recap of previous lesson and then aim and obj for this lesson. Also my debrief Q&A at the end - aided by Blaines recommendation (of course) on his video.

Well done Humour is always a good thing to throw in it relaxes all involved. And it makes a nice change for the examiner who is probably use to instructors being too serious.

Yeah, the SE's like the humour. Mine liked the fact I had used it during my check test.

Well done with the test. They took a while to catch up with you though
