Thanks folks.

Any advice for the part 2?

I've been doing my best to apply sections of Driving The Essential Skills in my day-to-day driving; moving off, junctions, etc.

Not an easy task when I spend half of my time in Wolverhampton and 50%+ of road users seem to have a version of the highway code that I haven't seen!

Yep, that's Wolvo for you! Blaine's part 2 vids and the Real Learner Lesson vids are great for part 2. I did lots of commentary driving when I was preparing for Part 2 as well. My trainer was rubbish so it was pretty much up to me. Really glad I found Blaines website.

did my part two in wolverhampton last week passed second time.. and just today had my first part 3 lesson, are you doing your course in wolverhampton as i saw on your profile your location is split..

I'm not doing a course as such. Self-trained from scratch so far.

Would probably make sense to do it around Wolves though as I'm hoping to be moving here over the next few weeks.

if your moving to wolverhampton google paul fryer, LDC instructor, hes teaching me and i cant fault his teaching method, attitude and time keeping.i hear a lot of people having trouble with the instructors they have had. in a whole year now i cant find a single fault with him so far and look forward to my lessons..if you do move then ring me any time. send a message and i will give you my number.

Hi Darren,

Congratulations on passing Part 1

Having passed my Part 2 yesterday at the first attempt, the only advice I can give you is to watch Blaines part 2 videos and if you can, buddy up with a PDI who's got through their Part 2. I was very lucky as Mr Chris got through his a few months ago. On my first training session with him I was about to move off when he stopped me. My look over my right shoulder was not good enough to see my blind spot properly.

It was the manoeuvres I needed to brush up on too so that I didn't get minors for missing any of the obs. Despite Mr Chris constantly reminding me about the reverse in turn in the road (not moving until I was looking through the rear window, and doing so for about 1.5. metres) I forgot yesterday and had reversed a few inches before looking back. 1 minor.

Although I did mirror checks each time I saw new speed limit signs, on a couple of occasions I failed to look again when passing the sign when the speed limit increased. 2 minors.

Also don't forget to brush up on show me/tell me. We printed a list from the AA website which really helped. Good luck with your training.
